NCAPP is designed for POGIL practitioners to gather together and share ideas, challenges, and struggles regarding the use of POGIL in their classrooms. The format will include various types of participant-centered sessions where practitioners will be able to share their ideas for new POGIL activities, explore challenges related to using the POGIL format, and work with others to design new POGIL activities or methods of implementation. Participants will come away with new ideas for POGIL activities as well as new strategies for implementing POGIL.
Another purpose of the conference is to serve our growing population of practitioners, including teachers from a wide range of disciplines at all levels, and who serve minorities and underrepresented groups. All participants will be seeking ways to use POGIL to improve or enhance student learning in their fields.
The theme of NCAPP 2019 is Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers...
Foster connections among participants across institutions and disciplines to create a supportive, inclusive community of transformational educators.
Address obstacles to collaborative learning and identify strategies to improve the classroom experience for all students.
Since the conference begins first thing Monday morning, participants should plan to arrive on campus on Sunday, June 23, 2019. The registration fee includes all lunches and dinners from Sunday dinner through Wednesday lunch. Campus housing is available for an additional cost and will be in a modern, air-conditioned, suite-style residence hall where participants will have private bedrooms and semi-private bathrooms. Accompanying breakfasts are included with the housing fee.
