In this web-based session, facilitators Kristen Drury and Shannon Wachowski will guide an exploration of how incorporating POGIL activities can help you implement the NGSS in your middle school or high school science classroom.  Drury (William Floyd High School), and Wachowski (University of Wyoming) will help you:

  • Compare POGIL process skills with NGSS science and engineering practices.
  • Analyze evidence to determine how POGIL resources can support the different dimensions of the NGSS.
  • Identify 3-4 activities that you can implement in your course this year.

This session is most useful for teachers of these courses:

  • Middle School Life Science
  • Middle School Earth & Space Science
  • High School Biology
  • High School Chemistry

Registration for this event is limited to 30 people.  Registrants will be sent a Zoom meeting invitation approximately 1 week prior to the webinar.  Please note that the session begins at 7:00 PM Eastern Time The session is scheduled for 1 hour but the facilitators will remain available to answer questions at the completion of the session.

Cancellation Policy:  Should you need to cancel your registration, please contact Julie Boldizar at julie.boldizar@pogil.org.  Registered participants who cancel by February 26, 2020 will receive a refund minus a $5 administrative fee.  No refunds will be given for cancellations received after February 26, 2020.
