This workshop is designed for POGIL practitioners who have been to a Fundamentals of POGIL virtual workshop, 1-day POGIL workshop or 3-day POGIL workshop and who want to have a go at writing their own activities.
Join our facilitators Rick Moog, Shawn Simonson, Laura Trout, Michael Garoutte, Karl Bailey, and Kristi Deaver in:
- Learning key elements of writing a POGIL activity--writing questions that follow the learning cycle; developing robust models; incorporating process skills into questions
- Receiving feedback from writing coaches as you begin to write/refine your own activity
The workshop sessions will run from 1:00-3:30 pm EDT on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Thursday is an open day for writing, with facilitators available for consultation.
***IMPORTANT***
Participants for this Activity Writing workshop must either be registered to attend the Fundamentals of POGIL Virtual Workshop (July 8 & 9, 2020 or July 20 & 21, 2020) OR have previously attended a 1-day or 3-day POGIL workshop . We will review your workshop participation and contact you if we feel you may not have met this requirement.
Technical Specifications
For this workshop, you will need to connect to Zoom via a computer with video and microphone/sound capabilities. Using a smartphone or iPad is not recommended. Technical specifications for participation in this virtual workshop can be found in our Virtual Workshop Policy.
Workshop Materials
A packet of materials will be sent to you in advance of the workshop to the address you provide during registration. Please note: If you are located outside of the United States or Canada, you may incur an additional fee for shipping costs. We will contact you prior to shipping to discuss this fee.
Workshop Cancellation Policy
A $20 administrative fee will be retained for cancellations received by July 6, 2020. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after July 6, 2020.
