Fundamentals of POGIL Virtual Workshop

This virtual event is an introductory workshop and is designed for those with limited or no previous exposure to POGIL. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in POGIL activities, observe facilitation strategies firsthand, and learn about POGIL classroom implementation.

After attending this session, participants will be able to:

• list the essential elements of POGIL pedagogy and philosophy
• list desirable student learning outcomes supported by POGIL pedagogy
• collect strategies to begin implementing POGIL in the classroom

Schedule

This workshop is scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM EASTERN Time.  (Please adjust to your time zone.)  There will be a 90 minute lunch break, during which there will be some "homework" to complete.

Technical Specifications

For this workshop, you will need to connect to Zoom via a computer with video and microphone/sound capabilities. Using a smartphone or iPad is not recommended.  Technical specifications for participation in this virtual workshop can be found in our Virtual Workshop Policy.

A packet of materials will be sent to you in advance of the workshop to the address you provide during registration.  Please note: If you are located outside of the United States, you will be provided with electronic copies of the materials.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

A $25 administrative fee will be retained for cancellations received by November 20, 2020.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations after November 20, 2020.
