Classroom Facilitation Virtual Workshop

Despite being a virtual format, this is a very learner-centered, active learning workshop. During this workshop, we will help you streamline your use of POGIL activities, and take a deep dive into helping your students to develop process skills. There will be small homework assignments (~30 mins.) given at the end of the first three sessions.  

Participants will engage with teammates and workshop facilitators to:

• Develop students' process skills through POGIL classroom interactions.
• Collect a variety of tools to help facilitate POGIL activities in the classroom.
  
• Explore several methods for assessing POGIL team interactions.
  
• Build effective POGIL teams.
  
• Leverage roles to optimize POGIL team interactions.

Prerequisite

Virtual Fundamentals of POGIL workshop, 1-day POGIL workshop or a 3-day summer POGIL workshop.

Technical Specifications

For this workshop, you will need to connect to Zoom via a computer with video and microphone/sound capabilities. Using a smartphone or iPad is not recommended. Technical specifications for participation in this virtual workshop can be found in our Virtual Workshop Policy.

Workshop Materials

A packet of materials will be sent to you in advance of the workshop to the address you provide during registration if you are located in the United States and have registered and paid by June 10, 2024. If you are located outside of the United States or register and/or pay after June 10, 2024, electronic materials will be sent to you via email prior to the workshop.

Workshop Cancellation Policy

A $25 administrative fee will be retained for cancellations received by June 17, 2024.  No refunds will be issued for cancellations after June 17, 2024.
