What are POGIL Pop-Ins?

POGIL Pop-Ins are conversations for early practitioners who are starting to implement the POGIL approach in their classrooms.

Who are POGIL Pop-Ins for?

If you’re brand new to POGIL and interested in getting started, welcome! If you’re experienced and want to share and listen, welcome! If you’re somewhere in between, welcome!

When are the POGIL Pop-Ins?

Four Pop-Ins have been scheduled for Fall 2025. The sessions are open to anyone.  Each topic will have its own registration. You do not need to attend the whole series - you may choose which topics interest you. Each session will be offered at two different times to accommodate different time zones and schedules.

  • Wednesday, August 13, 6 pm OR 9 pm Eastern: Preparing for POGIL
  • Monday, September 15 at 12 pm Eastern or Tuesday, September 16 at 3 pm Eastern: Encouraging Student Buy-In
  • Tuesday, October 14, 3 pm or 6 pm Eastern: Implementing Roles Effectively
  • Monday, December 1 at 12 pm Eastern or Tuesday, December 2 at 3 pm Eastern: Metacognition

How are POGIL Pop-Ins structured?

For each hour-long Pop-In, experienced practitioners will be in attendance to lead the discussion. We will initially focus on the topic for the month, however, if other questions about running the classroom are brought up, we will take time to talk about those topics too.
