Effective POGIL implementation relies on thoughtfully crafted learning cycle activities that guide students from exploring a model, to constructing new concepts, and ultimately applying what they have learned. Because POGIL activities do not yet exist for every content area, level, or context, many educators find themselves creating their own materials.

This interactive session will highlight the essential steps and share practical strategies for writing strong POGIL activities through a fast-paced “sprint” approach.

Join facilitators Beff Mancini (Retired High School Biology Teacher) and Shawn Simonson (Boise State University) as they lead you through a hands-on activity-writing sprint. Participants will leave the session with a clearer understanding of how to structure a guided inquiry activity and a solid start on drafting their own POGIL activity.

Prerequisite: Attendance at a Fundamentals of POGIL workshop or equivalent.  If you have any questions, please contact Julie Boldizar at julie.boldizar@pogil.org.

Registration for this event is limited to 36 people.  Registrants will be sent a Zoom meeting link 2 days prior to the webinar.  Please note that the session begins at 7 PM Eastern (6 PM Central/5 PM Mountain/4 PM Pacific) The session is scheduled for 75 minutes.
